Hearing Aids

There are many different hearing aids available with different styles, features, and cosmetic solutions that can greatly enhance your daily life.

All modern hearing instruments have certain characteristics in common: – they are made to selectively increase the volume of the sounds you want to hear. They can make soft sounds audible, whilst at the same time making moderate or loud sounds comfortable, thus providing relief in both noisy and quiet situations.

No hearing instrument can solve every hearing problem or restore normal hearing, but they are designed to provide clear, crisp sound enhancement so that you can hear and understand better.

Hearing aids explained

The various types and styles of hearing aids can be overwhelming. Hearing aids come in many different shapes and sizes with different levels of technology. You should bear in mind that all these different technology levels, shapes and styles are designed for particular hearing losses and hearing abilities. Some of these may not be a suitable solution for your needs – that is where a consultation with our Audiologist will help to guide you to the correct products for you.

Rechargeable

Rechargeable hearing aids for people who don’t want the worry of changing batteries.

Rechargeable hearing aids work in much the same way as charging your phone, you simply charge the entire hearing device.

No more fiddling with batteries, simply use the case to store them in at night and they will be ready to go the next morning.

With simple and reliable charging, rechargeable hearing aids allow you to enjoy superior sound quality without the need to regularly buy and change hearing aid batteries.

Receiver in the canal (RIC)

Receiver in Canal (RIC) is one of the most popular and discreet models and great for first-time users.

They are so light and discreet that they’re almost unnoticeable.

A receiver in Canal (RIC) are a very common type of hearing aid, and are also known as Reciever-In-The-Ear (RITE) hearing aids.

Receiver in Canal (RIC) are available for mild, moderate, and severe to profound hearing loss.

Behind the ear (BTE)

The Behind-the-Ear (BTE) hearing aids provide the most amplification which can make them suitable for people whose hearing loss requires a more powerful device.

As the name suggests, behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids sit behind the ear and delivers sound into your ear through a tube which is attached to either an ear dome or a custom-made clear ear mould.
